Check out this weeks episode!

Oh gosh, I am so excited for you to meet Sarah. She is Jesse’s cousin and I am so lucky to have married into her family. Jesse actually lived with Sarah and her husband, Matt, right after he graduated from high school, and we break down that time for you in this episode. Jesse (and I) LOVE this family so much. They really have taught us so much over the years and we look to them a lot as we raise kids.

Sarah tells of her husband’s cancer and how the Lord was at work within her family as they walked that scary season. And how Matt used every day to serve the Lord and bring joy to others.

Their family mantra was “WE WILL NOT WASTE THIS SEASON.”

Here are the two verses Sarah references:

3 JOHN 1:4 I have no greater joy than to hear my children are walking in truth.

PSALM 127:4-5 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.

Sarah is obsessed with the show MARRIED AT FIRST SIGHT

MOMS RAISING SONS TO BE MEN the book and this video from Focus on the Family.

SHOW NOTES 005 JENNY NUCCIO

IT'S TIME FOR COFFEE-3TR3_4341 - Jenny Nuccio

Jenny is a Texas girl married to an Alaskan, but they met….in KENYA! Her husband went to high school with my husband and we got the chance to meet a couple years ago when they were back in the states touring churches and raising funds for all the awesome work they get to do in Mombasa, Kenya.

She is the founder of Imani Collective. She tells me all about how this collective started and how God has grown it, changed it and opened so many doors, and that it is coming up on it’s 5th birthday.

She is a mom to her sweet son Jaden and is excited to welcome their daughter into the world this summer!

When I think of Jenny I think of adventure! She is daring and creative with mad leadership skills. Her family has an open door policy to all their community, but she tells us about how they are able to find boundaries in that, too.

I hope that you will enjoy this conversation, Jenny is so inspiring and shows me that I can serve, and bloom right where God has placed me!

SHOW NOTES 004 MADISON ANAYA

IT'S TIME FOR COFFEE-3

This week I had the chance to sit down with my new friend Madison Anaya. We met at a Book Signing in Dallas and immediately hit it off. She is so sweet and just an open book.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Madison is young wife, learning to balance work, school, dreams and date nights by being intentional in all the areas.

We talk about how they weathered Hurricane Harvey last fall and the blessings that followed.

Madison is such an inspiration, and she is going to change the world with her encouragement, passion and determination!

We have a great conversations about people we look up to but are real careful to not compare our beginnings to their middle.

Our conversation was just so fun and natural!

Madison and I talk about how we met at Rachel Hollis’ book tour for her new book GIRL, WASH YOUR FACE. And how Rachel Hollis has inspired us to much!

Madison absolutely recommends Jen Hatmaker’s book OF MESS AND MOXIE.

I tell her how much I love  Audible  (it’s how I read most of my books…because reading and driving is looked down upon) and I tell her that she should try listening to Jamie Ivey’s  new book IF YOU ONLY KNEW.

I just finished listening to SHOE DOG Phil Knight and think you all should go out and grab it, it’s so much more than just the story of a shoe company!

SHOW NOTES 003 KITCHSY COUNTDOWN GIRLS KELSEY A. & KELSEY B.

IT'S TIME FOR COFFEE-3

Check out this episode!

Talking to Kelsey B and Kesley A was seriously like sitting down with old friends. I have listened to their podcast THE KITCHSY KOUNTDOWN  for a few months and have really enjoyed it. So talking to them was a little bit like talking to celebrities and then like I said talking to two old friends. They are so delightful and I really just love their passion for friendship and bringing out the best in each one of us.

I feel like we talked about everything from how long they have been friends, babies and how they started their podcast. They also told me that they are reading WHY I HATE GREEN BEANS for their Book Club. I hope that you will go check these girls out. They are so fun and full wisdom and I cannot wait to meet them in real life!!

I am THRILLED to introduce you to my new friends Kaylee and James Wilson. They are an amazing couple who are living in Ghana while they finalize the adoption of their daughter, Wella.

DSC_9597 copy.jpg

They have such a sweet story! We discuss how Kaylee always knew she wanted to adopt, how God softened James’ heart towards it, and how this journey led them all the way to Ghana and their sweet Emmanuella! They are so far from home but together as a family they are a shining example “Blooming where you are planted.”

This couple is so passionate about DAVE RAMSEY that they once binged on his radio show for 13 hours!

This sweet couple also own a coffee company LEVEL GROUNDS EXPRESSO. . It started as a fund raising idea for their adoption, but has bloomed into a small business that is sustaining them during their stay in Africa. With beans from all over the world they are changing the world one coffee cup at a time…I mean come on! That’s my kind of  mission!
