SHOW NOTES 012 KATIE GANSHERT

IT'S TIME FOR COFFEE-3author shot - Katie Ganshert

Check out this episode!

Katie Ganshert is a wife and amazing mom to two sweet kiddos. I met her while we were both in the process of adopting our sweet daughters from the DRC in Africa. We each have a daughter with special needs and that is something we continue to bond over.

After I read some of her books I had a TOTAL fan girl moment…I KNEW HER and SHE WROTE THESE BOOKS!! It was a pretty dramatic moment in my head! Katie is so wise and kind and I love that she came on the show to tell us all about her latest book NO ONE EVER ASKED. Which I have read and will not stop talking about. I believe the conversations that will happen because of this book will be the catalyst so much change!

Katie is passionate about many things, one being super mindful of her daughter seeing people who look like her. I love how her family just recently sold their house and moved so they could be apart of a more diverse community and their heart behind it all is so pure.

With a Heavy Heart

My heart breaks this week as we have seen some very well known people succumb to suicide. I don’t know their hearts, their struggles, their families or ANYTHING about them. Yet my heart breaks.

They say suicide rates are up. We are in a world where we are “connected” all the time. Yet are often so alone.

We see highlight reels and think everyone is happy or ok and we take that for an answer. Or at least a good enough answer.

But sometimes, maybe most of the time, that’s not real life.

Sometimes we need to ask more. Dig deeper. Stop expecting those who are hurting to reach out to you. We must reach out. We must do more.

The desire of my heart is to bridge this gap. Not to fix you, but to be there for you. To be your friend. To be there in those times when you feel alone. To point you to help, professional and spiritual.

Friend, you are loved. You are needed, treasured, precious, and so loved!

Please don’t try to do this thing alone.

Check out this weeks episode here

I can’t tell you how much this sweet friend of mine has wiggled her way into my heart. JennyLynn is PRECIOUS to me. She is so fierce, strong and I love that she is using her voice to tell her story. Her story is not this fairytale of Happily Ever After but struggle, faithfulness, perseverance and joy.

She tells her story in such raw way, she’s a hold nothing back story teller. Her heart is so pure and full of joy to help others in her community.

I LOVE that she kept a journal for her future husband, that she wrote to him when she was happy, sad, and longing for him, not knowing when he would come into her life.

WITHOUT A VISION PEOPLE PERISH

JennyLynn reminds me almost daily that each day is such a gift and that when she was at her lowest or sickest that she begged God to allow her to live and that she would never take her days for granted.

Her story is AMAZING and I love how she tells it so honestly.

This girl, Y’all I can’t!

If you are in a season of loneliness remember we are here.

The internet isn’t always a bad thing. The beauty of the internet or social media is that we really do have community at the tip of our fingers.

SO friends don’t be afraid to reach out and help us create our community!
